My
Life So Far - 2 - 2 - 2
By
Edith Beale the Bouvier
|
Here's
a picture of me, sitting on the front porch of my
home in San Francisco. Don't I look like a little
devil?
This
picture was taken on Dec. 4. I had just gotten a
little red name tag, shaped like a heart. And, I'll
have you know, there's an American flag engraved on
the back side of the tag. In the spirit of the
times, I'm one patriotic pup! |
They
took this picture on Jan. 23, 2002. I love the
square-jawed, determined look. I was just about
ready to have my last set of puppy shots. I've had
some growth spurts. I put on 10 lbs. during December
and another 10 lbs. in January. By the first week in
February I weighed 35 lbs.
Nowadays
I am a regular visitor to Mountain
Lake Park, less than a block away from where I
live in the Richmond
District in the western part of San Francisco. I
also take walks in The
Presidio, the old military post that the
National Park Service took over. It's a great place
to walk, but I have to be on a leash. That's not
fun, especially for a determined young Bouvier like
me. |
| I
also like to go to Alta
Plaza, a park in Pacific Heights. There are two
other Bouviers that I see there along with some
other great dogs to run with.
I
love to romp and wrestle with dogs, big or small,
young or old. I delight in chasing balls, but
especially I love to chase a dog who is chasing a
ball. Then, when the dog brings back the ball, I try
to swipe it and do a victory lap around the
befuddled dog and its companion.
If
you meet me, you can call me Edith or Edie. Bring a
treat or two. Ol' what's-his-name, who walks with me
every morning, always has a pocket full of treats to
encourage good deportment.
Speaking
of that, I haven't just been sitting around eatin'
bon-bons and writing doggerel. I'm a kindergarten
graduate from the Perfect
Paws school. I sit and look both ways before
crossing streets. I have a long way to go and much
to learn, but I've made a good start.

Meet
my buddy, Buddy, and find out how I'm driving the
kids downstairs nuts as my
life continues on the next page. |
Please
visit Edith's Web page again to find out what she
has been up to, meet her friends, see where she has
been walking and places she's visited. If you have
any questions or comments, please send them to Ol'
What's-his-name. He will probably answer you.
He's got too much time on his hands.
